Cholesterol - Good, Bad Or Repugnant?

It has come to my attention lately that I drink a fair amount of coffee, which contains a fair amount of caffeine. I realised this after being told that 8 cups of coffee per day is bad news. It was brought to my attention by a member of staff in the sales team, but he couldn't tell me why caffeine was such 'bad news'.

After getting a medicals fake glimpse of what's really going on you have to wonder about the spray tan booths out there today. However, we always hear about how they're a healthy alternative to spending the day in the sun. So for an upgraded fee, you too can utilize one of these booths. The truth is these aren't nearly as healthy as staying in the sun (using proper precautions), and have no health benefits themselves.



Apparently, his company sends its top level executives to this fancy schmancy private medical clinic for their annual check-ups. It's one of these up-medicals bad and fake-coming diagnostic centers where you spend the entire day there going through a variety of medical tests in posh surroundings. Then you sit down for a "board meeting" with the doctors at the end of the day to review your test results. As you can imagine, these places are quite popular with the "in" crowd. I like to call them the "elite diagnostic day spas"! Much pomp and circumstance!

As the semester began, I suddenly decided to write two novels. But I wanted them to be as factually accurate as possible. So I went to the library to check out books for research. I checked out books on the flora and fauna of the different regions of the world. I checked out books on geology, meteorology, marine life, the history of ships, and books on different world cultures.

Low carbs, processed food, low calories, sugar substitutes, Hollywood diets and countless others just do not work. The reason why they don't is because they are not focusing on the real factors of weight gain and instead of helping the body to adapt more naturally to food and process it like nature intended to, they go deeper into the problem. The result of this is a fake fat loss that will last only for so long before the body fights back. The end result is that not only you will gain everything back but in some cases even more than you had started with.

But in more cases than not, the funders of the study have a vested interest in the results, so guess what? They are skewed or even false. Important factors are overlooked, or left out completely, whatever it takes to produce the desired results to report. Scared yet?

For me, even though I'm not transcribing all day, I find things like Facebook and Twitter to be the "good news/bad news." They provide a great tool for me to stay informed. Even the searches I have programmed in my Google reader are great for staying connected. Throughout the day, these things can also be a great break away from the monotony of the day. At the same time, they can be a huge time waster if I'm not careful to watch how long I stay on each site. For home-based MTs, these are a great way to stay connected; just don't let it become like the office MT who takes a 15 minute break and ends up coming back an hour later!
